Spring Equinox
A time when day and night are almost equal, we're stepping into a shift from the quiet of winter to the liveliness of spring. This event is special across cultures, symbolizing a fresh start and a balance in the world. For yoga, which is all about feeling connected to nature and being in tune with ourselves, the equinox is a reminder of how we're linked to the universe and its natural cycles.

1. Finding balance in yoga
Yoga serves as a pathway to balance, guiding us through the ebb and flow of life's energies. Just as the equinox brings equilibrium between light and darkness, yoga helps us find equilibrium within ourselves. In yogic philosophy, this balance is often explored through the concept of the three Gunas of nature: Sattva (balance and purity), Rajas (activity and passion), and Tamas (inertia and darkness). Through our practice, we strive to cultivate Sattva, embracing clarity, peace, and equilibrium.
2. Springs energy in yoga
With the equinox comes spring, a time for new growth and energy. In yoga, we see spring as being connected to the air and the heart, signifying expansion, love, and fresh starts. As nature wakes up from its winter sleep, we can use this time to bring a new liveliness or Rajas to our yoga practice.
3. embracing change
During the equinox, nature goes through a big change, moving from winter to spring. Just like that, we go through changes in our own lives. Yoga teaches us to accept these changes and see them as opportunities for growth and learning.
When all your energies are brought into harmony, your body flourishes. And when your body flourishes, your soul has a soil in which it can blossom in the world. - Donna Eden
